Google has introduced Priority Inbox, designed to help you get your hands on priority emails first.

Priority Inbox is designed to overcome information overload and allow you to see the emails that deserve your attention first.

So rather that just filter junk mail to your spam folder, it works by splitting your inbox into three sections – Important and unread, Starred, and Everything else and thus is able to identify Priority emails for you.

Sounds like a great idea a long time in coming emails will be automatically categorised as they hit your inbox.

You’ll maintain the ability to manually set conversations as important or not.

Internal testing at Google found that the feature reduced the amount of time the average user spent on their emails was reduced significantly.

To make this Beta feature work for you, you will need to be a Google Apps user who has enabled beta programs.
